IDEATORS
’IDEATORS’ is a reality-TV show competition that brings together 6 university students from the UK and 6 university students from Sri Lanka. The contestants are mixed up and divided into two teams. Each team is given a challenging business task that they must complete within a given time-frame. At the end of the task, both teams face a tough judging panel, where one team is identified as the losing team. The judging panel then eliminates one contestant from the losing team. The challenges continue and contestants keep getting eliminated every week, until the last-standing contestant walks home with the coveted title ‘British Council IDEATOR’. Following its premiere on 14 January 2012, ‘IDEATORS’ Season 3 telecasts every Saturday at 9.00 p.m. on ITN.
BACKGROUND
The British Council partnered with 14 leading organisations in Sri Lanka and 10 UK and Sri Lankan educational institutes to deliver ‘IDEATORS’ Season 3, which provides an interactive learning platform to its contestants and viewers. Being the UK’s international organisation for educational opportunities and cultural relations, the British Council conceptualised and organised ‘IDEATORS’ to promote graduate entrepreneurship among aspiring Sri Lankan and UK undergraduates.
